Best time to post on Instagram
Every article on this subject gives you the same chart, averaged over millions of accounts that are nothing like yours. This one reads the posts of one account and shows when its posts did well.
Why the generic charts are close to useless
"Tuesday at 11am" is the average of a bakery in Ohio, a football club in Brazil and a study-tips account in India. Your audience is in specific timezones, awake at specific times, and interested in you specifically. The only chart worth reading is the one built from posts your own followers reacted to.
Read this before trusting the result
- Twelve posts is a small sample. Instagram publishes the most recent twelve, and that is what this uses. Treat a pattern from twelve posts as a hint, not a schedule.
- Timing is not the biggest lever. Content decides most of it. An excellent post at a bad hour beats a weak post at the perfect one.
- Times are shown in your device's timezone, converted from the post's real publication time. Instagram does not say where the account or its audience is, so if you are analysing someone in another country, read the hours accordingly.
What to actually do with it
If one slot clearly outperforms, publish your next few important posts there and see if it holds. If everything looks about the same, that is a real answer too: for that account timing is not the problem, and the effort belongs on the posts themselves.
Where to look next
Timing is the small lever. The big ones show up in the full audit: which format is carrying the account and how often it publishes. If posts have got worse recently rather than always been this way, compare them against the account's own median before blaming the schedule.

Why does it not show the hour I usually post?
It only shows hours where posts actually exist. Slots you have never used cannot be measured, which is the honest limit of learning from your own history.
Does posting time affect reach that much?
Less than people think. The feed is ranked by interest, not by recency alone, so a good post keeps surfacing for hours. Timing helps at the margin.
